The Old Oak Tree

My daughter and her family built their home this year on land acquired by my gr-grandparents, immigrants from Czechoslovakia. Many trees were removed, but we saved a very old and tall Oak Tree. We were rewarded with beautiful large acorns that were perfect to make into ornaments. The single caps were drilled (yes, they were that hard), and a silk cord added. The acorns were re-glued to the cap and painted with glitter nail polish! All that was needed for the doubles was an ornament hook.
